Avengers Academy #7

AA #7 comes out today, and it's a big issue!  HA!  So, by the info that's already out you can tell, it's the return of Giant Man.  Lots of fun in this book.  I'm really thrilled to have gotten the chance to work on Avengers Academy.  It's one of my favorite books out right now!  Christos Gage knows how to bring the fun and the drama all in one sweet package.  So, if you make it out to the shop this week at least take a peek, and hopefully grab a copy!  Enjoy!!

Big Ben

Ben Grimm!  Always been a favorite of mine, but still workin on how to draw him.  He's fun.... but tough.  Gettin a little closer to what's in my head.

Brute

Love the fantasy, sword and sorcery genre.  Wish more people wanted to read comics like this these days.  Oh well... maybe some day!

Avengers Academy #7

Back from Heroes con!

What a great weekend!  Met a whole lot of just wonderful people, nothing but friendly folk at the show.  The vast array of talent at the show was so large it just wouldn't have been possible to see all of it... that's if I had the opportunity to get up from behind my table.  Busy busy busy!  There wasn't a minute that I wasn't sketching away!  Great to reconnect with friends I only get to see at shows, some I haven't seen for years!
All weekend I sat next to and chatted with Ethan Van Sciver, very nice company.  Fun to talk to and his sketches were great inspiration!  Looking forward to heading down again next year!

So i just got my hands on a Cintiq, and 10 minutes in I'm in love!  Here's my very first attempt.

It's just a quickie.  It'll take me a bit to adjust to working on it, but I can already tell it's gonna be a huge boon!

Havin some fun with these guys.  By the way, these little characters are all done straight to marker.  I've got a few Pigmas sitting nearby and I'm just making them up on the fly.  Fun freeform stuff!

Been a huge fan of the Micronauts for long LONG time!  I'm hoping that one day Marvel can get the rights back... this book was a major reason for me wanting to do comics in the first place, and I missed having even a slight chance of working on it by a few years.  Maybe one day...

BAM!!  That's how these two roll!   Nathan Fairbairn did such a great job with his Abe Sapien that I had to jump in and join the fun of the Hellboy mythos!  Oh yeah!  The party never stops here!
